About Grand Garage Tuning | Carbon Fiber Auto Parts
Who We Are
We're Grand Garage Tuning — a small shop doing car exterior upgrades.
The product line is carbon fiber: dry carbon (prepreg), real carbon, and forged carbon. We cover BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Ford, Tesla and a few other chassis families.
Put simply, we take the factory gloss-black plastic part and give you a carbon fiber version of it. Mirror caps, side skirts, grilles, bumper trim, seat back panels, interior pieces — wherever a car has plastic, there's usually a carbon replacement for it.
We're a small team. We pick the products ourselves, we check the material ourselves, and if something's unclear you can just ask.
Telling Real Carbon From Printed Carbon
This is the question we get most, so here's the short version.
From a distance, you can't tell. Both sit on a hood, both reflect light.
Up close, two things give it away.
Weave depth. Hydrographic printing puts the pattern on the surface as a flat graphic — it reads as a sticker, especially when you're close. Real carbon is the fibre itself, woven over and under each other, so the weave has actual depth and dimension.
Surface finish. Real carbon is sealed under clear coat. It's smooth, it has a sense of thickness to it, and it feels like a shell over the panel. Hydrographic printing is a thin printed layer with a flatter, less substantial shine.
Price is the most reliable tell. Real carbon costs noticeably more. If something is priced far below what it should be, that's usually the answer.
Choosing Your Material Is Your Call
We're not going to tell you what to buy, and we're not going to try to talk you into spending more.
On a budget — real carbon. Visually almost identical to dry carbon, a lot cheaper. For small parts and purely cosmetic items (vent badges, gear shift knob covers), real carbon is plenty.
If you want the weight and the feel — dry carbon (prepreg). Cured under heat and pressure, so the resin fully sets. This is the genuinely lighter, harder construction. Worth considering for larger structural pieces.
If you want a pattern that stands out — forged carbon. Short fibres compressed under pressure, which gives a marbled look that doesn't follow the body lines. People either love it or don't.
Still deciding? Start with something small and see how it feels. A lot of people begin with a gear shift knob cover.
Fitment: Get This Right First
The most expensive mistake in car mods isn't buying the wrong material — it's buying the wrong fitment.
Check your chassis code. It's on the vehicle identification plate or your registration paperwork — something like F80, G82, or W205.
- F80 / F82 is the older generation (2015-2020)
- G80 / G82 is the current one (2021-) — completely different tooling, parts do not interchange
Every product page lists the chassis codes it does not fit. If your model isn't in the exclusion list, don't guess — send us an email and ask.
